The Power of Consistency

“There’s no way I could ever give up my wine!”

“I can’t live without my nightly treat!”

“I won’t ever be working out more than once or twice a week!”

The amount of time I have heard these types of statements from new clients is almost too many to count. My response is always the same, “give it time”.

When people look at others who have achieved or are in the process of achieving their goals, its easy to think that their struggles are too different and that making the changes they made wont be possible. The reality is though, that most people deal with similar issues (though they may stem from different circumstances) and feel like there is no way that they will ever be able to change the patters that have come from them. This leads to people feeling overwhelmed and unable to make that crucial first step.

A big focus of mine, is helping people make small steps to begin the process of changing their overall patterns. From my experience, when you tackle issues that you have been dealing with for years, (whether physical, emotional, or nutrition) if you try and take them all on at once, your likelihood for success is minimal. Instead, if you focus on making tiny changes over a longer period of time, you will (many times without realizing it) end up being the person who is “on the path to achieving their goal.”

That success however only comes from consistency. This is something that I have found very difficult to express or explain to people, but once they begin making the changes, they see for themselves how much better they feel. This change in behavior, in turn, makes all future changes seem much more attainable and motivates people to continue with their program.

If you are having trouble making that first step, and need some assistance in setting up a game plan, send me a message and let me help you get started!
